August 13, 2026 · 6 min read
Short answer

A single edited short video costs between 25 and 80 euros in Germany if the footage already exists. Add a shoot day and a full production day including editing lands at roughly 2,000 to 4,000 euros. At VadimYourEditor a Basic Shortform video costs 27 euros, a Business Shortform video 57 euros, and a Business Media Day starts at 2,150 euros.

The price comes down to three questions

Search for video pricing and you mostly find ranges from 500 to 15,000 euros. That helps nobody. It is more useful to break the price into three questions, because that is where it is actually decided.

  1. Is there footage already? If yes, you only pay for the edit. That is by far the biggest lever.
  2. How long will the video be? A 30 second clip and a 15 minute film differ by a factor of ten in editing time.
  3. How many videos do you need? The first clip always costs the most, because onboarding, alignment and finding the style happen once.

Prices when footage already exists

This is the most common case. You filmed on a phone or a camera, the material is there, the edit is missing. Prices are easy to compare here because the deliverable is clearly defined.

FormatLengthPrice per videoWhat is included
Basic Shortformup to 2 minutes€27Editing, subtitles, transitions, HD
Business Shortformup to 2 minutes€57Plus 4K, colour grading, audio mastering, AI B-roll
Longformup to 20 minutes€97Editing, subtitles, colour grading, audio mastering
Podcastper episodefrom €95Multi-camera editing, subtitles, audio mastering

These prices apply in packages from ten videos upwards. That is not arbitrary: getting into your brand, tone and approval process happens once, whether it results in one video or thirty. From ten pieces on, that effort spreads sensibly.

Prices including a shoot

If no footage exists, a shoot day is added. You are not only paying for the hours on location but also for planning, travel, equipment and reviewing the material afterwards. A realistic frame for Germany:

ScopeFilmingOutputPrice
Photo shoot or short videosup to 2 hoursup to 4 short videos or 120 photoson request
Media Day Sup to 4 hoursup to 8 short videos or 240 photosfrom €2,150
Media Day Mup to 8 hoursup to 15 short videos or 4 long formatson request
Media Day L and XL2 shoot daysup to 30 short videos or 8 long formatson request

The decisive factor with shoot days is the yield. One focused day produces material you can publish from for weeks. Measured per video, a media day therefore often works out cheaper than several small appointments.

What pushes the price up

Four things make a video more expensive, and three of them are avoidable.

  • An unclear brief. If the purpose of the video is still being discussed during the edit, you get rounds nobody needed.
  • Many approval loops. One feedback round is normal and usually included. From the third onwards it gets expensive, because every round reopens the edit.
  • Poor raw footage. Shaky shots, clipped audio or missing cutaways cost more time in the edit than they saved during the shoot.
  • Genuine special requests. Elaborate animation, voice talent, music licences or multilingual versions are extra work and should cost accordingly.

How to budget realistically

Work backwards. Not "what may a video cost" but "how many videos do I need over the next six months". Anyone who wants to stay visible on Instagram or LinkedIn needs two to four posts a week rather than one glossy film a year.

At two videos a week that is roughly 50 videos in half a year. With Basic Shortform you land at about 1,250 euros, with Business Shortform at about 2,700 euros. Compared with a single 8,000 euro image film that reaches nobody after three months, that is the far better calculation.

What does a single promo video cost?
